Missions On Wheels relies heavily on volunteers to get assets into disaster-impacted areas. This is one of the ways we can keep our costs down.
You can make a difference by signing up as a member of one or more of our volunteer teams. Get involved today by filling out the form below, and a member of our team will contact you.
"BOARD MEMBER": A "skin in the game" position that helps with all aspects of leadership and growth of the organization, including networking, building relationships across communities and industries, fundraising, and other duties.
“DEPLOYMENT TEAM”: The Deployment Team is responsible for delivering, setting up, and making trailers operational wherever we're needed, then bringing them back home when the operation is complete. In some deployments, we may contract or hire a driver to deliver the trailer, but we still need people on the ground to set it up and get it operational. Experience pulling 24' and longer trailers is preferred.
“OPERATIONS TEAM”: The Operations Team is responsible for the daily operations of trailers while deployed. This is typically needed during operations at shelters or evacuation centers, as our partner organizations take over once the “Deployment Team” has stabilized a trailer. This is generally “light-duty” work managed during morning or evening shifts, but may vary depending on circumstances.
“SUPPORT TEAM”: The Support Team is great for volunteers who can't or don't want to travel outside the Montgomery County, TX area, but still want to help us keep trailers prepped and deployment-ready, support projects around Missions Ranch, and build new trailers. This will doubtless be the busiest group as there is no shortage of projects getting trailers prepped and ready to deploy.
"AMBASSADOR PROGRAM": This covers all areas of non-profit operations not already mentioned above. Examples will be helping with social media, newsletters, event planning, phone calls, networking, and attending local events, to name a few.
